The McEwen Gold Bar Project is the construction of a new mine located within the Battle Mountain-Eureka-Cortez gold trend of Eureka County. Brahma acted as the Owner’s Representative and Construction Manager throughout design, budgetary, permitting, engineering, contractibility review, constructability review and construction.
The Gold Bar Project is the Owner’s first mine development in the United States. Brahma minimized potential cost and schedule overages through 1) construction experience and 2) identifying potential design issues during pre-construction. We assisted in the design of safety policies, procedures and culture for the mine.
Brahma was responsible for procurement, transportation, construction services and management of self-performed and subcontracted work. The scope of the Gold Bar Project included:
- Installation of site power generation and utilities including power distribution
- Civil excavation
- Simulatneous erection of structural, mechanical and electrical scope for multiple onsite facilities including the ADR, refinery, laboratory, adminstration, warehouse, crushing and conveying.
Throughout the project Brahma was extremely sensitive to the Owner’s budget finding efficient and cost sensitive ways to complete the project while meeting future project expectations. Brahma’s dedicated and passionate managers demonstrated our agility through investigations on opportunities outside of standard construction practices to ensure the success of the Owner.
